Rocky Heights Middle School
Multimedia/Electronic Publishing Facilitator
Highlands Ranch, Colorado
I am lucky enough to teach in an exceptional program with exceptional students. I currently facilitate four sections of multimedia in which my students learn about film (all genres from documentaries to motion graphics) and broadcast journalism. My students produce a live broadcast every morning that streams to over 1,500 people. We live stream sporting events (with play by play commentary), concerts, plays and musicals all over the world and this year we finished our school's fourth full-length feature film. We created a remake of the John Hughes classic, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
I also facilitate two sections of Electronic Publishing, in which my students use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects to create the school's yearbook, online magazine, pre-recorded video magazines and content for the community newspaper.
